Accessory & Secondary Dwelling Units

Accessory / Secondary Dwellings Units (ADU / SDU) are a fast growing part of our residential market.  Nauta Home Desgins provides blueprints for these types of unit with guarantee of permit.

What are these units?

An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) or Secondary Dwelling Unit (SDU) are units built on a property that already has a main dwelling unit. Typically these are done in detached structures but can also be created in the basement or 2nd floor of an existing home. Municipalities have amended their zoning by-laws in recent years to allow for most residential zones to have up to 2 or 3 dwelling units per property.

Free Consultation

For secondary dwelling units an onsite consultation is almost always necessary. This helps us to determine the feasibility and options for the project. Consultations also allow us to determine the fixed fee for your project (based on the scope, complexity, and scale) as well any other specifications to be included in your written design contract.

Once our contract has been agreed upon, our team returns to measure and take photos of the existing property or space. After measurements and photos have been taken, your assigned designer will draft a concept plan and send it to you. This begins the designer-client revision process, which results in your final drawings.

Accessory dwelling units don't always need onsite consultation, however we're more than happy to meet with you at your home and discuss the possibilities!
