| What is your Dream Home Design? | 2/4/2012 |
Any of our home or cottage plans can be modified or customized at your request. "Modifying" a plan means making a single set of changes to the interior, without altering the footprint or outline of the house, while "customizing" a design means making multiple changes and/or changes that affect the footprint. The cost of customizing a home plan is greater because a change in footprint affects the entire blueprint. The roof lines change, elevations change, floor plans change, cross sections change, structural design and engineering change, and building code compliance has to be checked. Our Search tool features a section just for cottages, but you may want to consider a custom home design, or a modified plan. If you find a house plan close to what you want, call us to discuss how we can modify or customize it to your wishes, and provide you with the cottage of your dreams. Nauta Home Designs has helped over 1900 families to get the home of their dreams without the fear, frustration and anxiety. We do all types of home styles including: one storey bungalows, cottages, backsplits, two storey plans, storey and a half designs, sidesplits, raised bungalows and more.If the mirror image of a house plan would be better suited to your lot, or your lifestyle, call us to order a "reversed" plan. All of our home designs can be reversed for a small fee. When you find a plan for the home design you would like to have, just call us. You will be directed to one of our designers, who will be happy to assist you. Contact us today for more information about: - Home Plan for Cottage

We design houses with an emphasis on size, shape, and scale:
- Size - What are the room sizes? What is needed for space?
- Shape - How is the space created or defined? Form and function!
- Scale - Are all areas properly proportioned? Is the space balanced?
Our talent in design is about creating your new space in accurate detail. Detail is what turns your house into your home!
Whether your dream is a luxury mansion or a starter home, or something in between, we are about helping you make your dream house a reality.
Our house plans are drafted using CAD technology, which provides the greatest clarity, accuracy and detail. Most importantly, they are easy to read, helping to avoid frustration and job site errors. When you purchase house plans from us, you get a detailed foundation/basement plan, floor plans, cross sections and exterior elevations. Our library contains over 1000 house plans covering everything from one storey bungalows and cottages to over 3000 sq ft luxury homes, including Colonial, Cape Cod, Victorian, Georgian, Ranch, Prairie, French Colonial, French Provincial, European, Southern, Coastal, Traditional, and Contemporary. Search from our growing library of over 1,000 house plans and cottage designs for your next dream home.
More house plans & home designs are added weekly.
Use the menu on the right to search our home plans and find the design that fits your lifestyle...bungalows, two storeys, sidesplits, cottages... Our award winning house plans are approved for Ontario and all Canadian Building Permits.
To search for a two storey house design, for example, select "Two Storey" from the drop-down menu on the right. You can narrow the results by entering other criteria such as total area, number of bedrooms, exterior finish, and so on. All of our house or cottage plans can be modified or customized at your request. "Modifying" a house plan is when a single set of changes is made to the interior of the home, and requires that the footprint or outline of the house does not change (for example, moving interior walls or changing the kitchen layout.) "Customizing" a house design is when a number of changes are made, and these changes affect the footprint. The cost of modifying a house plan is minimal because these changes do not require structural engineering, change in building structure, or building code compliance.
